Aim
To communicate the significance of Easter.
Introduction
Happy to be back after the Easter holidays/sad?
Have you ever been really, really miserable?
What sorts of things have made you unhappy?
Draw a miserable face, write up on OHP any examples.
We've just had Easter which was a time of enormous sadness and fear for the disciples. Can you imagine what they must have felt?
But, what happened on Easter Sunday? Jesus turned it around!
Turn sad face round to reveal that it is actually a smiley face!
All that sadness turned to great joy! Jesus alive again! We know this from lots of examples in the Bible but we are just going to read a couple of stories this morning.
