Aim

To show that to understand each others needs we sometimes have to look beneath the surface

Introduction

Good to be back! Anyone remember last month? elicit trust game / smarties / pinching crisps / healing of leper who trusted

Anybody hungry? What do you like in your lunchbox? Healthy stuff?

Sketch

Two members strolling along, chatting, on the way to ‘school’. Conversation around lovely day, excited about school trip to WM Safari Park, coach, picnic.

"What have you got in your lunch box?"

"Well I’m not really very hungry today"

"No, but you must have got a few things, so what’s your favourite?"

"Well actually, my Mum’s been ill.."

The two meet a third, who’s going through the contents of his lunchbox with glee – is not about to share when asked by one of the others, but she assures her friend that she’ll share her lunch

Feeding the Five Thousand

Recalls Bible story of feeding of the 5000, emphasising not only that disciples wanted to ‘send them home’ but that Jesus had an understanding of their physical needs, and the little boy was prepared to give up his meal.

Reflection

A moment to think on challenge – Do I, do you ever think about anyone other than ourselves? (examples from home, school, etc)

Song

Great, great, brill, brill
