Aim

How friendly are we to those who have come to live in this country?

Introduction

Ask for any children who are from a different country and if they will be interviewed. What was it like, were people friendly?

Drama

Narrator: The visit of the Wisemen or Magi took place later than the nativity so we are going to start from there and see what goes on.

Herod seated on throne (far right)

Wisemen approach from right come to Herod seeking the Child (ad lib conversation make sure you ask what time the star appeared – ending with directions to Bethlehem)

(Wisemen move towards Joseph etc)

Narrator: When the Wisemen leave Herod they see the star again and follow it to the house that Joseph and Mary are living in now. When they see the young child they worship him and give him presents of gold frankincense and myrrh.

(at other side of hall tble and chairs with Mary and Joseph and small child)

Angel of the Lord: (to the Wisemen) Do not go back to Herod return to your country a different way

Narrator: Meanwhile back at the palace Herod is getting angry

Angel: Joseph get up and take the young child and his mother and flee to Egypt and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy him.

Narrator: Joseph got up and took Mary and Jesus and they left in the middle of the night for Egypt and stayed there until Herod died.

Herod was so angry that he had been deceived that he had all the children two years and under killed in Bethlehem.
