Aim
Exploring Christian Values – to show what happens when we tell the truth or a lie.
Introduce ACTS 2 members and then close all the curtains and have lights off.
In the Beginning
Person 1: In the beginning it was all very dark (pause). Then God said “Let there be Light”.
(At this point the sparklers should be lit or if not being used, the lights turned on).
OHP to be turned on and the following words written on it:
LIGHT
TRUTH
GOOD
KIND
Song
Shine Jesus Shine
Obstacle Course
Obstacle course to then be set up by ACTS 2 members.
Blindfold one child, then rearrange some obstacles.
One child should give correct directions to navigate the course, while another should give the wrong directions.
(The aim of this is to show what happens when we tell the truth or a lie).
Reflection
Game was fun unless you were the one blindfolded. That gives us an example of the darkness, as does the curtains drawn and the lights off.
John
Person 2: The opposite of darkness is light and I am going to read from the bible some verses about light. Proceed to read John 1 and John 8v12
Prayer
Now I am going to say a prayer and if you agree say amen at the end.
Dear God, we thank you for the great time we have had this morning learning about your light and truth. Help us all to walk in the light and always tell the truth. Amen
