Welcome
Good to be with you, slightly different theme from your ‘value’ this month – we thought it would be good to think about getting ready for things…. Think about preparation for sporting events – Wimbledon, 2010 World Cup, etc
People have to prepare for other things too – one of us is getting ready to move house and change job, right away from here, and some of you have got big changes ahead – many of you changing class and perhaps teacher, and some of you even changing schools next term…
Jesus Prepares his Disciples
During the three years that Jesus spent with his very close friends, his disciples, while he was alive here on earth, he spent a lot of time preparing them for what was to come – they saw and heard some amazing, things – some of it was scary and a lot of it they didn’t understand.
He told them that the day would come when they would have to start telling everybody they met about him and about how much God loved them, but they’d have to do it without him there. They really didn’t understand that!
The very last time his disciples saw him, Jesus made them a promise – he promised never to leave them. They didn’t understand that either, but they did know that Jesus always kept his promises.

Reflection

Prayer
Thank you Lord that you have promised never to leave us. Thank you that whatever new challenges lie just around the corner for all of us, we can trust that you will be there with us because you have promised, and we know that you always keep your promises.
