Introduction
Sharing what we have – food [some have lots; others not enough: each to bring bag showing what they have to eat]
Drama
Players 1 & 2 walk on, excited about whole day out to Safari Park.
Player 1 remarks Player 2 has no food.. she'll be hungry.
Player 2: Mum is too busy
Player 3 arrives with bag bulging, shows lots of food items. Player 1 asks Player 3 to share with Player 2.
Player 3: no way! I need all this.
Player 1 offers share to Player 2 both stare at Player 3 in surprise. All go off to side.
How did they feel when Player 3 didn't share?… response from children
Here's a story about a boy who shared, so Jesus could help a lot of people – Feeding of 5000:
Matthew 14:13-21
STORY read from Lion Storyteller Bible, slowly to fit kids miming [Children to MIME] [Rest of school will be crowd]
Jesus, Peter and Andrew cross front area, Jesus talks to crowd.
Jesus, Peter and Andrew speak together; Andrew to fetch 'small boy' from the side, take basket, give to Jesus. Jesus break a roll, Peter and Andrew mime (pretend) distribution, then picking up and gathering in baskets.
Player 3 to Player 2 (with big bag): 'I've been thinking, I don't need all this, I'll share my food with you.'
Reflection
Pick up themes of sharing, giving to others. Little boy in story gave the little bit of food he had, Jesus did wonderful things with it. It's good to give, it's good to trust God even when we think we haven't got much to offer.
Ask children to sit quietly and think about the story / what they saw.
Prayer
Song
'Man looks on the outside, God looks on the heart'
