Aim
We all have a part to play to help each other, focus on mutual support in school's value of the family
Intro
Family: different sorts family, large and small, even school, church, like a family. We all have a part to play in daily life.
Mime
chosen children mime 6 regular home activities:
bake a cake, peg out washing, clean a room, ironing, drive the car, planting things in garden.
Mime one by one, whole school will guess activity.
Apply: important we all do things to help each other
Story
resume: poor family during 1930s depression, Christmas, no money for presents, all drew pictures for each other instead and hung them on tree.
Little boy draws pic of 2 adults and boy, arms around each other, underneath says 'US'. Best present.
Another team member to put up pics on board the story is told.
Reflection
Pick up on story: for the little boy his best present was to be with his loving family.
Psalm 127 v3
'Children are a gift from God'. Jesus loved children, and welcomed them. God thinks family very important.
Think of those you live with: how are you a gift to them?
What can you do to help and be like a special present to others around you?
